Scott Hill: Business & Stage Manager

While in college, Scott gravitated to the visual arts and crafts, discovering a particular pleasure in working at the potter’s wheel. Wanting to travel before building a kiln and settling down, Scott hitchhiked through Europe for eight months, and then decided to go to art school in London, where he met Ranka.

Deeply impressed by the artistic quality of Ranka’s collages and satirical drawings, Scott reassessed his own artistic talent, and realized he would be wise to pursue another line of work. At the University of Minnesota, he earned a B.A. in psychology and an M.A. in educational psychology, applying his particular interest in cognitive psychology and visual design to educational media development.

While producing training films in Silicon Valley, Scott spent his weekends assisting Ranka with street performances at Ghirardelli Square, in San Francisco. Before long, Scott quit his job to help Ranka manage her expanding performance schedule. (They also collaborated on a children’s film based on an H. C. Andersen story, with less encouraging results.)
